WebAug 4, 2024 · It works fine, but sometimes we see via Process Monitor that Word executes a NotifyChangeDirectory operation on c:\windows\fonts. Usually it takes 1-2 seconds, but sometimes it took more than 20 seconds. The virus scanner seems not to be the cause. But we see that the performance of this operation depends on utilization of the server. WebProcMon shows devenv.exe: performing a large number of "NotifyChangeDirectory" against "C:\", "C:\Users\my_user_name" (and also some with random files from my project), and registry operations (RegQueryKey, RegSetInfoKey, RegQueryValue, RegCloseKey) against: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults*,
